You're going to see somebody who has seen many, many, many people.

Dr. Emily Keram (Psychiatrist) describes PTSD treatment.

Transcript

The first thing that you can expect when you come in

to see somebody at the VA for the first time

is that you won't be judged.

You're going to see somebody who has seen many, many, many

people who have your experience and your symptoms.

You may be the only person that you know

who's feeling the way that you're feeling,

and you may have never really talked about it

with somebody else, and what that means is

that you've never really connected

to somebody else who understands what you're going through.

Now granted, most folks who work at the VA have not walked

in your shoes, but we've walked with people who've been

in your shoes, many of us for many, many years,

and this is our life's passion and our life's work.

We really enjoy the opportunity to show you where you can be.
