As a parent who's suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder,

my number one piece of advice for you would be to

not put it off another day,

that your kids already probably know something is wrong.

Regardless of whether you've told them or not,

they've already noticed, before maybe even you noticed.

They know something is different.

They know you're probably not quite the same,

every day as you're doing things.

Just talk to somebody.

Go and get help.

It's much better for you to say to them,

"Hey, there's something going on.

I'm trying to deal with it, I'm trying to get help,"

than it is to just leave them in the dark.

Because they do know something's wrong,

and if you don't say anything, they'll struggle with, as I did,

is it their fault?

Do they know what's going on?

It's very confusing, it's a very scary place to be

regardless of how old you are, certainly more so for your kid.

It's not a great place to be,

and you can make that better by just going and getting help

and figuring out how to do that together.
