My advice is look for this peace in your heart and in your mind.
Seek out the help that is there now for the combat Veteran.
If you're having problems, no matter what it is, alcohol,
drugs, relationships, anger, there's such a gamut of problems
that stem from PTSD, it just goes on and on.
It will get worse unless you seek some help, but you have
to make the first step.
No one can do this for you.
You have to do it yourself.
And for so many years I thought I could get some help,
but it didn't work because I was hoping somebody would say those
magic words that would take all this away from me.
No, it will not take it away from you.
It will always be there.
But you can learn to live with this PTSD in peace.
You can lay your head down at night and know that you'll wake
up in the morning a little happier, a little calmer,
a little more in control.
Is it a quick fix overnight?
No. Will you cry?
Yes. Will you suffer through this?
Yes, you will.
Will this be a battle that you that think you can't win?
Yes, it will.
Do not give up this battle.
Do not. Do not get to the point where you want to end it all.
That is not the answer.
Stay strong.
Stay true to your heart, true to your family, true to your God,
true to your country, and you can get through this.
I promise you.
