You get used to what it's like over there, and that's your normal.

Transcript

You know, what was normal back home is weird

when you're over there.

Anything from taking a shower without shoes on.

[laughs] That's weird over there.

You don't do that over there because it's all public showers,

so you wear flip flops for health reasons, like you would

in any gym or anything.

But yeah, everything that was normal

at home is weird over there.

Just walking down to the kitchen to get something to eat.

You don't do that.

You gotta go to the DFAC

at the scheduled times, stuff like that.

So you get used to what it's like over there,

and that's your normal.

So then you come back home, and people expect you

to be what you were like back home but it's not like that

because you're still over there, you know.
