With me,

it's the fact of you get close to someone, you lose 'em.

And just like in Vietnam, you get close to the guys

in your unit because they're watching your back

and you're watching their back.

What happens?

Bingo, they're gone.

And you end up having this callus put over your body.

And your mind changes

in the way that other people can't understand.

And you're just callused from everything.

You don't wanna participate in anything.

Well if I don't get close to someone I won't get hurt.

Then I don't have to worry about my feelings.

So you put everything in the back of your mind

and just go on breathing, in out.
