You do matter.

Valerie Ovalle, US Army 2004 - 2005, shares her advice for others who may be concerned about PTSD.

Transcript

What PTSD felt like before treatment?

It felt like

I was carrying

the world on my shoulders.

It felt like

I didn't wanna be in this world no more.

It felt like it was suffocating me.

It felt like

I wasn't important,

and

I was worthless.

If you're looking at this and you feel the same way,

my advice to you is, you do matter

because I'm here telling my story

to help you.

I didn't have anybody to help me,

and

I wanna be there to help others.

So you are worth it.

You are a person,

and it will get better.

You just gotta

give someone the opportunity to help you

to get better.
