You can feel proud about what you did in your service.

Robert Evans (US Army, 1967 - 1968) talks about how PTSD treatment can help.

Transcript

These treatments work, they really, really work.

You feel like you're getting some place with this stuff.

It doesn't entirely wipe away or bury all the demons,

and it never will, but you can feel proud about what you did

in your service, even though there might be some things that

come up, but you can be proud of what you did

and proud of who you were in the service

and feel real good about yourself for what you did.

You got caught up in situations, and,

especially if you were a draftee, you didn't want to go,

but you had to do the things you had to do.

But then you learn a lot about yourself, too,

how you're going to perform during crisis

and things you see and things you have to do.

And to push that in and not talk about it later is,

it was a big mistake on my part.
