Fear, anger, guilt, shame.

You actually start to just
go through it and understand

and literally pick apart
what you're seeing.

So it wasn't my fault.

I didn't deserve it.

I didn't antagonize the person.

I didn't ask them, I didn't ask for it.

So all these things we tell ourselves,

the narrative that we have
in our head from the trauma

is very negative.

So now you learn, okay,
let's pick this apart.

Let's answer these questions.

Did you ask for it?

No.

So then why do you still think

that you brought it upon yourself?

So then we go down
these list of questions,

and as we go down the list of questions,

you're actually answering them.

You don't have to go into detail

about who, when, why, what
and where of the assault,

or you know, if it was a
combat issue or whatever.

You don't have to go
into all those details.

What we're dealing with are the emotions,

what you're censoring, what
you're feeling in that moment.

And as you process,

then you begin to understand

why you respond a certain way.
