My mom knew something
was a matter with me,
but she didn't know what
and she didn't really know
how to help me, you know?
So the only thing my mom knew
was to hold onto her faith.
And my mom and my grandmother,
they've been Buddhist all of their life.
And I noticed that I was
hurting the people that I love
by the lies that I was telling them,
by the way that I was
pushing them away and not...
not being able to open up to them.
Because within the Asian culture,
mental health is not really spoken about.
A lot of times, that's
swept underneath the rug.
