Yeah, I would say that the person really needs
to do medications and psychotherapy in order to
get the full benefit of the treatment that is available.
The medications just simply aren't going to
take the person to where they want to, in most cases,
and I think it's important for the prescriber
to work with the patient who's with them
to help them to understand we can only go so far.
But there are other avenues of treatment here
that we need to at least consider, such as doing
the trauma-focus psychotherapies or other forms
of psychotherapy, because I want every patient to get to
exactly where they want to be in their lives,
and we can't do that with medications alone,
so part of what I consider that I'm doing
with the patient is that I'm a friendly guide.
I'm here to guide them in the direction
that I think would be most appropriate,
the path that I think is going to be most likely
to give them the success that they're looking for.
