Coming from where I have been

to where I am is nothing
short of 10 miracles.

(chuckles)

Oh, that's an understatement.

I mean, I don't mean to make light of it

but if you guys knew
the things I was doing

when I was in my addiction

and

the havoc that I caused

compared to the person
I am today, you know,

I feel so much better
about who I am today.

Before I was running and
hiding and scared of who I was.

I was running and hiding from
not only what happened to me.

I was running and hiding
from what I've done

to other people.

I was running and hiding

from what other people might do to me.

You know, all I did was run and hide.

Now today I can face my wife.

I can have a disagreement
today and not raise my voice.

I can face my children
today when things get hard

and a boyfriend breaks
my daughter's heart.

I get to be there for her today.

You know,

because I've learned
how to work through this

and learned who I am

and I've become something different.

You know, I am me today.

I'm me,

like, that's the biggest
word I can use today, is

I'm me.

I'm not the me that was hiding.

I'm me.

And I love that today.
