I look back now and know
that when I would sit in a movie theater
and there would be a difficult
scene of a sexual assault,
I would get up and get popcorn.
I would say, "Oh, I have
to use the bathroom."
If that happened on the
television, I would have to leave.
Because it was my little secret,
and nobody else had to know about it.
So I just had to deal with it
and wait for the memory to go away
or whatever feeling it gave me.
And I just had to fight
to get rid of that feeling
and then I would just move on.
