One of the moments that really sticks in my mind is when

I got done watching the movie "Saving Private Ryan."

Just the whole experience, re-living that experience,

even though I'm not combative, I still had combat around me.

And that movie caused me to start thinking about

what I was going through, what I was thinking,

how I was feeling, and what caused me,

maybe what might be a cause for some of my problems

was seeing this and seeing the horror all over again

of what we experienced.

And that's what got me to start thinking about it.

And as the days progressed and weeks and months

progressed afterwards, I got to the point where,

yeah, I knew there was something wrong.

And then when I hit the bottom and had threatened suicide

and called the hotline and then made the phone call

and got into the VA, then the letters were put to it.
