The concern about losing control also is one that

many Veterans have because people often have locked away

those emotions for so long.

If you open that box up, you're not sure what might come out.

And again, we open that box very slowly,

and we help you manage the emotions that come out

and tolerate the distress that might come up

if we start talking about things that are distressing.

And we also, again, empower you

with the coping tools to manage that.

And typically, what happens is that people are able

to tolerate and get through those experiences and really

come out brighter, and happier, and less anxious, less upset,

and feeling a lot better about themselves in the process.
