If we're speaking about facing our fears

out in the real world, what we like to call "in vivo" exposures,

what we would do is help them make a list

of things that they've been avoiding.

And on this list would be typical things

that people do normally, such as shopping

or going to the dry cleaners,

but then also fun things that maybe they've been avoiding,

like going out dancing or going to the park,

and then maybe some things that they avoid in their house

because it reminds them of combat, such as the nightly news

or newspapers, shows with blood on it, things like that.
