Cognitive Processing Therapy is a therapy where we look at

what you're telling yourself about why the trauma happened.

So we're basically looking at your thoughts

and how your thoughts are impacting your feelings

and how these things are impacting your life on a daily basis.

So in this particular treatment, we take time to actually

look at what you're telling yourself about a range of things.

We look at what you're telling yourself

about why the trauma happened.

We look at what you're telling yourself about others

and the world around you in a range of areas

like safety, trust, intimacy, power and control, and esteem.

So we take those things and sort of teach you new skills

for how to challenge or question the thought pattern

that you have that's getting in the way

of you living your life or recovering from PTSD.
