We simply want to know...the Veteran who is sitting in our office.

Dr. Ebony Butler (Clinical Psychologist) describes PTSD treatment.

Transcript

When you come in for treatment, we bring you in

and we simply just want to have intake.

We simply just want to know what's going on with you,

want to get a feel for who you are as a person.

There's no pressure to talk about your trauma

right off the bat, we simply want to know who you are

as the Veteran sitting in our office.

What concerns you?

What things have worked for you?

What things are not working for you?

What are some things that may get in the way of treatment?

What are some of the things that have kept you from treatment?

And what are some things that we can look for

so that we can make sure that we keep you in treatment?

And we also make sure that this is the right time for you.

A lot of times when Veterans enter treatment, it just

may not be the right time, so we want to know about that.

We want to talk to you about that and see what it is

that we can plan for to help you be successful in this.
