We deal with it within the family.
If you come from a religious background
or you know, a faith believing background,
you know, prayers and priests
and different type of things,
it's never like, okay,
go get professional help.
It is only now, maybe in the last,
like I say 10 years or
so, maybe a little longer,
that even religious
believers, faith healers,
things of that nature are
talking about mental health
and talking about anxiety and depression.
A lot of times in the minority culture,
whether it's African American or Latino,
we're all churchgoers,
and you know, that information
that comes from that arena,
then, I don't wanna say it's believed,
but it's taken into consideration greatly.
And it's only now that
the churches or pastors
or faith healers are talking about
mental health is real,
anxiety is real, depression is real,
and prayer and supplication
is not gonna help it.
You have to seek mental health.
You have to seek professional help.
