There are
now ways to measure moral injury
and how severe the moral injury
might be in a given individual.
So we have measures
one of which is called the MIDS,
the moral injury distress scale,
and that both measures
whether a person was exposed
to something that went
against their morals and values.
And it also is able to measure
a number of different moral
injury symptoms
like guilt and shame
and self-hatred,
and withdrawal.
And so we're able
to really understand
what types of symptoms
people have, but also how strong
those symptoms are.
And that allows us to tailor
treatments to best give people
help on based on the symptoms
that they disclosed to us.
