We can find something that works.

Dr. Edward MacPhee, Psychiatrist, answers common questions about PTSD.

Transcript

Well over 95% of the time, we can find something that works.

It may not be the first medication that we try,

so we may try an antidepressant, and the person has

stomach problems, or sexual side effects as a result of it.

Okay, then that's fine, then it didn't work.

We tried it, it failed.

We try something else.

And we continue through this process until

we find something that works for the person.

And in the vast bulk of cases, we can find

something that is going to benefit the person.

It may take some time, it may take some patience

and some effort, but we generally can do that.
