The way that we figure out if a Veteran has PTSD

is coming into the VA hospital.

And coming to the VA hospital, you can ask any provider,

you can ask your primary care physician.

Let them know that you're having some problems

with your mood or your anger.

You can even say, "I'd like to be assessed for PTSD."

You can get a referral to the PTSD clinic,

and you would work directly with a clinician

who would interview you and ask you some questions

about how you've been doing, especially in this last month,

and will let you know whether or not you have PTSD

and what your options are for treating PTSD.
