The treatments that we're providing are short-term.
They're designed to be really effective in a short amount
of time, therefore on average, 10 to 12 sessions.
But as clinicians, if we're given the capabilities to,
we can extend that as somebody needs to.
And really, what I would like to do is just see,
are you enjoying your life again?
Are you getting out and doing things again
that you hadn't been doing before?
Are you finding meaning in those things?
Are you less reactive to the trauma memory?
Can you think about it and then not have to shut down
for the whole day and ignore everybody
and go into your own room?
And really, the Veterans I work with, they know.
They come back and say, "You know what,
this memory is not bothering me anymore.
I'm not having the nightmares.
I'm doing great in school."
