TRIGR [treatment] has allowed me to have a comprehensive understanding of those experiences.

Transcript

TRIGR, which is

my treatment for moral injury,

has allowed me

to have a

comprehensive understanding

of those experiences,

my actions

within those experiences,

my values,

intertwine

with the facts at hand.

That understanding brings me

to my conscious self

that I did my duty.

My team members, my crew

members, my fellow crew members

from the commanding officer

to the most junior person

on the Coast Guard Cutters

that I was involved with,

the air station

that I was part of,

those Mobil stations

that I was part of,

they did their

absolute very best

under difficult circumstances

to affect a rescue.

Those rescues were not

always what we wanted.

Their outcomes were

not what we wanted.

TRIGR has helped

me look at it,

break it down,

dissect those feelings,

and connect them to facts.

TRIGR has

helped me to understand,

to really have

clarity of my emotions,

my memories,

my values, my actions,

and how they relate

to the results of those cases.
