Treatments work.

Dr. Juliette Harik (Clinical Psychologist) describes PTSD treatment.

Transcript

When you have PTSD, it can be really hard to imagine

that things can get better and that,

after a course of therapy that lasts only 12 weeks,

you might actually feel different

and get back some of those parts of yourself that you lost,

that have been missing since the trauma.

But treatments work, and I know this.

I know this not just because there's 20-plus years

of research telling us that these treatments work

and can improve PTSD symptoms,

but I know this because I've seen it happen

to the veterans that I work with,

people who didn't think that there's any way

that they could recover from PTSD,
