In three months a lot of people are feeling a lot better.

Dr. Sonya Norman, Clinical Psychologist, answers common questions about PTSD.

Transcript

One thing I've found that Veterans are very relieved to hear

is that PTSD treatment is time-limited.

Usually it's about 12, maybe 15 sessions

that happen about once a week.

So really in three months, a lot of people

are feeling a lot better.

Sometimes, I've found people imagine that if they

start treatment, they have to go forever, and ever, and ever,

and kind of become this professional patient,

and it's not like that at all.

We have treatments that work,

where people start to feel better in, often, just a few weeks.

They notice a big difference.
