Thinking things were life and death situations still when in reality they aren't.

Ray Manzano, US Army 1972 - 2007, talks about how he knew he had PTSD.

One of the triggers used to be, of course, my driving.

Going underneath overpasses, speeding, thinking, you know,

things were life and death situations, still,

when in reality, they aren't.

My therapist explained that to me,

that I had to look at things differently,

that it's not life and death anymore.

It's just everyday dealing with people,

that not everybody on the road is stupid.

It's having to look at people in a different form

and realize it's not life and death

getting from point A to point B.
