The things that you've been told to look out for just describe yourself.

Timothy Laynor, US Army 2003 - 2011, talks about when he knew he needed to get help for PTSD.

Transcript

I probably had it for many years but it probably wasn't

until 2008, 2009 that I actually had another soldier of mine

who actually said, "You know,

there may be something wrong with you.

Your temper is very short, you've become very isolated.

You're not the same guy that I've known for six plus years."

And you start to think back, all the patients that you've had,

the questions that you've asked them,

the things that you've been told to look

out for just describe yourself.

Maybe I can hide this because I am the medical practitioner.

You know, I'm not supposed to have PTSD.

I'm the one that's supposed to fix PTSD.
