Well, we had a few little run-ins where Steve's anger,
in the very beginning, got away from him,
but it opened up my family to the fact that he had PTSD.
I mean, I can remember one Thanksgiving that
something came up previously, like, a year before,
and my husband was harboring that resentment,
and when we got together, he let that resentment out.
And I remember leaving with my husband thinking,
"Oh boy, am I never going to see my family again?
You know, is this going to be resolved?
What are we going to do?"
But my loyalty was to my husband, you know, so...
But it all worked out.
My father, you know, he says, "I understand PTSD.
I have a lot of respect for Steve, and I understand."
So it opened the gates of communication to what PTSD is.
