Speaking with the pastor of [my] church was helpful as well.

Eddie Hoffman (US Marine Corps, 2001 – 2010) describes things he did, in addition to treatment, that helped with his moral injury.

A big help was getting actually
going back to church

for a brief period of time
and hearing those things.

Hearing the the same sermons
and the same things

that I learned

as a child, hearing them in
different context where it's not

necessarily forced on me and

really working through

kind of the emotions
I was having speaking with

the pastor of the church

was helpful as well, telling him
my thoughts and having him

kind of show me in
different areas where the Bible,

where it talks about, you know,
war and things like that and

some of those things
you might have to deal with.

So it helped. It did help

being around other people.

And the more I talked about it,

the more I felt
almost the release of that

those emotions.

So and allowed myself
to be proud of who I was again.
