Transcript

Moral injury is really about
the things that you experience,

that you can't control,

where you feel like
you have somehow done something

or seen something
where you've crossed a line.

And that is really -
those are the experiences

that we're talking about
that impact

people who eventually end up
developing moral injury.

And that can be very different.
With PTSD,

individuals
might be in a situation

where they're bombed
or they go through an IED

and there is a fear
based response.

And really with moral injury,
what is most

predominant is a guilt
or shame based response.

And there's a

spiritual component where people
are really struggling

with the issue
oftentimes of forgiveness or who

they are as a person.

And what
they did means about them.
