If you're a Veteran out there who has PTSD

or think you might have PTSD

and wonders what you should be doing,

I would say the first thing to do is educate yourself.

Start the process of seeking help.

PTSD is a disorder that is very treatable.

It doesn't feel like that at the beginning, and in fact,

you might not even know what's going on.

But PTSD is a very, very treatable disorder,

and one of the things I love about my job as someone

who treats PTSD is that I know chances are

I'm going to be effective.

So when somebody comes in to ask for help or needs help,

I know that because I do Prolonged Exposure therapy,

that I'll likely be able to help them.

And so, in a pretty short time,

if you have PTSD, you could be better.

I know that it doesn't feel like that, but when people

come in to see me, I know that the chances are

I'm going to really be able to help them, and I like that.
