[PTSD] certainly created some hurdles that are tough to work through.

Nathan Ball, Husband of a Veteran with PTSD, talks about what it's like to live with someone who has PTSD.

Well, she likes to joke that I married her to be her caregiver,

[laughing] which is not the truth.

Like I said, when we met, we just had so much in common.

The PTSD wasn't apparent right when we met,

and for quite a while, I think she did a good job

of not showing her symptoms, to put it that way, I guess.

But I know it wasn't ever anything that was her fault.

She had the best intentions of being in the Air Force

and serving our country, and that was just something

that happened as a result of her trying to be a good person

and do what she felt was the right decision,

to serve her country.

And so, I guess, in a way, I've never felt like

that should be held against her,

that because of what she did that she got PTSD.

And sure, like I said, it's certainly created some hurdles

that are tough to work through at times, but, you know,

any marriage, I think, has its challenges,

and you just have to figure out a way to get through them

if you're interested in keeping your marriage together,

like anything else.
