Once you start drinking and getting into doing the wrong things, you know it's time to get help.

For me, my dad was a Vietnam Vet and after I came home injured,

he definitely want me to go in and get help.

And for me it was my irritability

with the family was getting worse.

The thoughts of things that happened at the war,

having a hard time leaving your head.

Concentration, which with TBI plus

that was kind of compounded also.

The night sweats and dreams were definitely bad.

So, I took my dad's advice and went into the VA

to seek counseling, to get the help.

When you start going to bars and getting in trouble,

I was arrested once and that kind of stuff.

Then it's like, "OK, yeah, I need to calm down and figure

out what's going on and get myself taken care of."

'Cause I could tell I was going, once you start drinking

and getting into doing the wrong things, you know,

it's time to get the help.
