Once I started taking the meds, it helped me to sleep.

Arthur Jefferson (US Army, 1978 - 1998) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

Transcript

Then I saw another doctor, and he spoke with me,

and I explained to him the trauma, and he ensured me that

I will always have the trauma, but he could give me some meds

to help me to be able to sleep.

And he told me the side effects of it, as well.

I started taking the medicine, and I was able to sleep.

Because before, like I said, I would wake up sweating, cold,

shaking of the trauma that happened, and it would take me

at least anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes

to be able to go back to sleep.

Once I started taking the meds, it helped me to sleep.
