My wife told me that she woke up with ... my hands around her neck.

Rebecca Miller, US Army, 2001 – 2005, talks about when she knew she needed to get help for PTSD.

Transcript

The moment I knew the
most is when my wife

told me that

she woke up with me on top
of her holding her down

and my hands
around her neck.

And I didn't
remember any of it.

She said when she tried
waking me up,

I was pretty much
in a trance.

I was staring at her,

but it was like I didn't
even know who she was.

So I guess when I most
definitely knew I

needed help

is when she told me
that it was time,

that we had to do
something.
