My name is Steven Weigart.
I served in the United States Marine Corps
Vietnam '67, '68.
I was with Delta Company 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.
I was an 0311, later an 0369.
I made rank quickly through attrition.
I was a PCF when I went over.
I was a survivor in my squad, became a squad leader.
When I returned, I was hospitalized after Tet '68,
I had a meritorious combat promotion to E5
and I was a platoon sergeant of Fifth Marine Security Platoon
for the last couple months in country,
pretty easy duty compared to my time in the bush.
