My name is Bob Murphy.

I was in the US Army Infantry from 1966 to 1969.

I ran a rifle platoon at Fort Campbell

with a subordinate unit of 101st.

Came down on levy, went to 'Nam, hit 'Nam October 1, '67.

I got back on August 15, '68.

I was there for the Tet Offensive, the Spring Offensive,

I was in five campaigns.

I was assigned to 1st Aviation Brigade.

They were the largest non-divisional unit in Vietnam.

Most divisions comprised of 10,000 men.

We had 25,000.

We were similar to the 1st Air Cav in the respect

that we had rifle platoons,

and we also provided all the non-divisional helicopter lift

in 'Nam with the Special Forces, the Special Operators,

and we supported any Infantry Division

that needed additional lift.

I was the Company Exec Officer with a myriad of duties.

But basically, I handled the security units

for our Headquarter's Company.
