My mother wouldn't allow me to see my daughter.

Vince Bryant, US Marine Corps 2001 - 2009, talks about when he knew he needed to get help for PTSD.

Transcript

There was an incident where my mother

wouldn't allow me to see my daughter,

and I want to touch a little bit on that.

Not allow me, but she would shelter my children

prior to them actually coming to me,

"Hey don't do that, 'cause that'll trigger your dad off.

"Watch this, be careful."

So I'm seeing this,

I'm like, these are my children.

Which, after feeling something like that,

it really is like a wakeup call.

Maybe I do need to go get help.

You know, it ain't nothing like mama,

and mama, she would tell you,

"Hey, I'm seeing things, I'm seeing things."

That's one major incident that I remember.
