I went on a car trip with my mom and she talked
about how I came back from my first deployment
and said I was very confident, I had direction, I had a purpose.
I came back from my second deployment
and she didn't know who I was.
She didn't understand, didn't know how to talk to me anymore.
Me and my mom talked about anything and I thought she did,
but she said she really didn't.
She didn't know how to.
She didn't know how to relate.
We were never the same.
But luckily going through different treatments,
my mom's finally said, "I feel like I have my son back."
