SPC Toby Brace (US Army, 1996 - present) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

Transcript

My first group session was, it was very nervous.

I basically sat very quietly, just listened.

I didn't get too overly involved.

And as we progressed a little bit,

I'd get a little more involved.

Sometimes it's hard to open to complete strangers.

Sometimes it's easier to sit down, and if you can,

if you got a buddy who's a great listener, who kind of knows

where you're coming from and has experienced many

of the same things that you have, often I've found

that those are great people to even talk to.
