My dad used to tell me, "Maybe, you need to get some special treatments or something."

When I first got diagnosed, there were a lot

of people telling me, like my sister,

she worked at the government center at RCPAC 9700 Page.

She dealt with records and stuff like that.

So she knew a lot about Veterans because she dealt

with Veteran records,

so she would know what's going on with Veterans.

And she used to try to tell me, "You know,

you needed to see a psychiatrist.

You need to go get yourself checked out,

maybe be on some medication.

And I used to tell her like, "Yeah, well, whatever."

It took me a while 'til she kept pounding and pounding

and pounding in my head and I was like, "Maybe, she's right."

And then there were other people.

My dad used to tell me, "Maybe,

you need to get some special treatments or something."

Friends, a lot of people told me, and I just played it like,

"Hey, there's nothing wrong and I don't want to hear it."

But deep down inside, I knew there was something wrong.

I was just beating myself up.
