I did a two week inpatient treatment at the VA
which helped get some of my medication straightened out.
Most people don't want to take medications but for me,
you need to take medications for a certain amount of time.
If you go in knowing that you're only going
to take the medications for a while,
whether it would be a year, two years
or three years, it's not a lifelong.
You need to take the medications to be able to bring yourself
down to a level to understand what you're going through.
I was having problems with hearing voices during the day,
seeing faces of guys that I deployed with,
you need the medication to be able to calm yourself,
to be able to rationalize everything that's going on
and you're able to come off of them later.
