I think it's important
for other people out there

that if you're indigenous,
a person of color, a woman,

that you should rely on those,

rely on those belief systems

and incorporate some of the
others, some of the outside,

because really that's the only way

you're gonna get past
some of these things,

is you have to have all
those resources to you.

You have to use all the resources you can.

For me, it was relying on some

of the indigenous beliefs I grew up with,

beliefs from my grandmother,

seeing a medicine man when I
needed to see a medicine man,

and then also relying on the
VA for my actual counseling

and therapy and going
through that process.

I think it's been helpful
for me, personally,

to have both of those together.
