Maybe that's why I'm always running in my dreams.

Nina Whittam, US Air Force 1953 - 1954, talks about when she knew she needed to get help for PTSD.

I didn't even realized what was going on with my body,

with my mind, but she sent me to this one lady.

After I had talked to this lady and some of the other women

that had been harassed, I felt like...

You know, I didn't want to air my dirty linen, like I said,

in front of them, but I got ideas.

Well, maybe that's why I'm doing this,

and maybe that's why I'm always running in my dreams.

I'm running away from what happened to me.

Then, it was, I don't know, I think it was through

my nurse practitioner again, she said,

"I would like for you to go see -- "

her name starts with an L but I can't remember it, her last name,

but she was a psychiatrist or a psychologist, whichever,

and she said, "I'd like for you to go talk to her

because I think she can help you."

And you know, it was after I talked to her one-on-one,

just me and her, it was after I talked to her

that I felt better

because I felt like it was all out in the open now.
