- So I do believe that certain,
a lot of family members went to church
and addressed mental
health issues on the altar.
And they would pray or lay
hands on a person who, you know,
was mentally challenged at that time.
Or tried to cast the
devil out of that person
for certain behaviors.
But, you know, we were poor.
I grew up a poor person.
I knew that from a early age
when I asked my mother to go
to Disney World and she said,
"We can't go to Disney
World, we are poor."
That is a reason why
people would go to church
because church was free.
You didn't have to pay to
go to church, you know.
And everybody else was going to church
so let's do what everybody else does.
