I've taught my wife some of the techniques
that I've been taught by the VA
and through the military counselors.
Really it's been, teaching her those kind of techniques
and kind of expressing my emotions and my feelings
about it all, it's been really helpful,
especially for our marriage.
And so, I've kind of used her as my confidant,
my outsource, my relay.
And she knows how I come in and go
out of the struggles, still to this day.
And I think it's really kind of allowed us
to have a better relationship because she understands that.
She knows when to give me some space.
She knows when I'm starting to isolate myself
and to start communicating with me.
So for the most part, it's actually been helpful,
especially with her having some of these techniques
to help bring me out of it, so to speak.
