To the people who say that they are not good writers,

it's more about figuring out how you feel about something

than it is about writing it.

If something's disturbing you, even if you can just write down

notes half of the time, you don't need to write

full sentences or paragraphs.

If you can write symbols about, you know, "Car accident,

mad at the driver, and then he had no insurance."

That's a whole story if you write it right.

I had that same, the quiet guy, Steven, that Steven guy,

he used to do that, he used to write symbols.

These things that would upset him, he'd write a symbol

for that, and he'd write a symbol for how it made him feel,

usually like a frowny face or like an agitated face,

and he had a lot of them.

By the end of it, he wrote a lot more,

but the fact is he didn't need to.

All he had to do was understand

the way he was feeling about things.
