It will feel manageable.

Dr. Martha Schmitz (Clinical Psychologist) describes PTSD treatment.

Transcript

When you come in for treatment, everything will be

going at a pace where it will feel manageable.

Clinicians are there to help you, to help give you support

and ideas for managing what comes up.

So, the first thing is just to know that

there will be support to help you.

Many people do find it helpful to

talk about the events they've been through,

and the reason for that is that it can give your mind

a way to make sense of them, to sort them out.

But that's best done with support of a clinician,

rather than just letting it kind of circle around in your head

or kind of holding it inside.
