it was a win-win situation.

Valerie Ovalle (US Army, 2004 - 2005) talks about how PTSD treatment can help.

Transcript

Treatment didn't work right away

and the only reason why I stuck with it

was 'cause I missed my mom.

She was a single parent of six kids,

so I just missed her;

I wanted to be around her.

So I said if I want my family back,

I need to get to this point where I'm better

and I felt like going to treatment would help

because not only was I missing my mom

but I also had my partner and her kids

walking on egg shells because of the PTSD,

because of my PTSD, and I wanted our relationship

to be better as well.

So, it was a win-win situation.

I wanted my family; I wanted my partner and her kids,

and I knew I had to stick with it in order to get

to the point where I can be happy.
