It triggered a flashback, and that's when I was taken to the hospital.

It could be a closet, it could be a small room in the house,

wherever you could find a safe haven

where in your mind nothing can get to you.

My safe haven was primarily my home,

which was, at the time, just a sleeping room.

It was big enough to get around in but small enough to,

in my eyes, keep everything and everyone away.

And I was comfortable there until I had my first flashback,

which was the sound of a tractor trailer going by.

And it sounded like a machine gun, and so it triggered,

it triggered a flashback.

And that's when I was taken to the hospital, and

then I explained to the psychiatrist what was going on with me

and what had happened, and that's when they transported me

to another facility, and I met more doctors.

And next thing you know, there was a team of doctors

that worked with me and helped me along,

helped me to get better, so to speak.
